Its been a while since these guys have hit the stage, but their still sticking to their writing and meeting some really cool people. AIYO has been fortunate enough to conquer the downtown scene in the Springs and has set their sites on some pretty big things. AIYO will be finishing up some new stuff and hopefully have it ready for prime time!!! Be ready for some pretty big changes in the armory and some possible additions in the personnel. Newsletter April 2006 Information

AIYO has been jamming now for about for 7 or 8 months. They began writing material very shortly after their meeting and have been hidden in “the basement” studio getting things righteous before they climb up the musical stairs. All in all, things are going well for these guys. So far they’ve managed to write a couple handfuls of songs (or in AIYO terms “RIDDIMS”), create and build a website, record a handful of songs, and have fun doing all of the above.
The RIDDIMS:
AIYO has a knack for writing groovy, energetic music. In fact, once you get these guys together, they have to be reminded to rehearse the songs they have completed before going off on the creative tangent. They have about 9 songs recorded in the basement studio that are either roughed out or complete and a bottomless bucket of grooves waiting to be developed.
The WEBS:
AIYO has an official website (www.AIYOmusic.com) and a “myspace” website (www.myspace.com/AIYOmusic). They network with other bands throughout the world and in Colorado using the very cool myspace and the official website is an ideal spot to stay up to
date with AIYO music and news.
The GIGS:
As of last week AIYO started testing their music on the unknowing population of Colorado Springs area. Feedback was very positive and people decided they couldn’t help but move to the AIYO groove. AIYO will be submitting for a spot at the South Park Music Festival in the South Park Colorado area, which will feature 150 other bands and thousands of listeners including Grammy winners and A&R folks. This would be a great opportunity for AIYO to be
recognized. Being that they are still developing, they probably won’t starting hitting the road until they’ve got enough material, which will come faster than you think.
AIYO Street Team:
These guys are really generating some momentum and have had some incredible reviews of their music from all sorts of folks in the recording industry. Please help by visiting the myspace and official web sites as well as telling your friends about them. Let us know what you think… you are a part of the AIYO family.

A NEW THING (late 2005)

AIYO (pronounced I-O) is a new band that has been growing in the Colorado Springs area since the summer of '05. These guys are really doing their best to put something together that is more than just music. AIYO believes in the energy of "positive vibrations". Their music is aimed at keeping the house moving. They love making their own music, which happens rather magically. Coming from a very diverse background ranging from rockabilly, funk, reggae, metal and so on, the inspiration is bottomless and the songs have a very broad appeal. Look for for some live action to come in the next few months.

We like to share our music that we record during our practices in B's basement. Basically we just record as we jam and keep the recordings to go back and listen to, grabbing some of the best parts and putting them together for pure sensation. Take a listen to our work in Riddims to keep a check on our progress.

In some tongues Aiyo translates into something like a negative gasp or statement of shock. Don't let that throw you... Aiyo as a band is still something that we hope shocks you in a good way and rocks your soul throughout.
